USMC: 1/72 F-4N Fighter VMFA-531 Grey Ghosts – Model Kit – Model Kit
For the F-4 jet fighter, the air battle in Vietnam was also an opportunity to identify operational improvements and confirm further requirements for additional performance!
As a result, the U.S. Navy selected F-4B aircraft with relatively few combat flight hours, and carried out modification work to improve performance to the same level as the J type and extend the aircraft’s lifespan; this is the N type. The U.S. Navy constantly deploys fleets centered on aircraft carriers in the world’s oceans to promote the country’s political, economic, and security presence. The Navy and Marine Corps have traditionally worked together to share budgets, and it is not uncommon for Marine Corps squadrons to be deployed on aircraft carriers.
This 1/72-scale model kit from Fine Molds reproduces the appearance of the VMFA-531 when it was attached to the aircraft carrier Coral Sea (CVW-14: 14th Air Wing) in 1979 and deployed in the Indo-Pacific region. The main wings are newly molded!
