‘Traveller’ is the solo album of ‘OE: Brazil’ artist Alda Rezende who was born in Brazil, but having lived in New Zealand for two years, is an NZ resident.
Alda’s career has been a mix of all manner of music styles including jazz, bossa nova, samba, classics, electronic music and pop. From being the soloist singer of an opera accompanied by a symphonic orchestra to performing in an electronic music festival, and from performing in video installations to interpreting a works by John Cage, to singing alongside some of the most traditional old style samba groups in Brazil to sharing the stage with the musical avant-garde of Sao.
Besides participating in several compilations and collaborations with other artists (including Wellington musician Jonathan Crayford, Alda has released two albums of her own. ‘Traveller’ is an intimate samba chill-out album, laced with smooth jazz.
