Author Biography
Shahid Javed Burki is Chief Executive Officer of EMP Financial Advisors and has been working on development issues for more than four decades. He previously served at the World Bank as Vice President for Latin America and Director for China and Mongolia. Daniel P. Erikson is Director of Caribbean Programs at the Inter-American Dialogue, a leading forum for Western Hemisphere affairs based in Washington DC, USA. He manages a project on Cuba and the international financial institutions and writes frequently on political and economic issues in the Americas.
