The Writing Project

Stacey Anwin had
always been enchanted by words. From an early age, she drew on the power of the
written word whenever and wherever she needed it-until her connection with this
power was lost. The Writing Project
recounts Stacey’s strategic attempts to recover her lost personal writing
practice through writing experiments. In doing so, she regains her voice to
speak about domestic abuse. Stacey shares the
strategies, tools, and methods she draws on to overcome complete creative
writing block, with samples of the pieces produced as she reconnects with her
writing self. She demonstrates the possibilities offered by a personal writing
practice, where writing is a way of thinking, creating, resolving, exploring,
reinventing, healing and much more.

Author Biography

Dr
Stacey Anwin has an eclectic background encompassing a variety of cultures,
languages, and academic disciplines. She grew up in a dysfunctional family
where her fundamental worth and her need for safety were denied; where any
natural expression of emotion was met with threats or violence; where senseless
lies, blame-shifting, gaslighting, and ridicule fractured her sense of self.
She promotes personal writing as a powerful agentic method.
