The Post-war Compromise

This multifaceted text, written by authors from a range of disciplines, focuses on the politics of trade unionism – not only unions��� relations with political parties and the state but also on the politics of workplace conflict and industrial action. Alan Campbell is areader in labor and social history at the University of Liverpool. He is the coauthor with John McIlroy, a professor of industrial relations at Keele University, of “Party People, Communist Lives: Explorations in Biography. “Nina Fishman is an honorary research professor in history at the University of Swansea and the coauthor of “Opening the Books: Essays on the Social and Cultural History of British Communism.”
