The Loser’s Guide To Personal Failure was designed to be a breath of fresh air; a realist’s book for achieving happiness in these terrible times. It was written to empower readers to cope with, then joyously embrace, their inevitable failure – the personal disaster into which circumstances will unrelentingly force them. This useful Guide rebuts vapid pie-in-the-sky panaceas offered by sappy, ineffectual volumes like “Instant Lifelong Investment Success,” “Land That Babe By Happy Hour” and “Mandelbrot Equations For Dullards,” presenting instead real world strategies that lend meaning to our onrushing doom.
Author Biography
Versatile writer Dean Christopher has enjoyed a semi-glittering career in journalism and advertising. Descended from a long line of newspaper and magazine writers, he has held editorial positions at SPIN, GEAR and Discover Magazine, and has been published in OMNI, National Lampoon and elsewhere. Besides the present “Loser’s Guide” volume, Dean is author of Discover’s popular book Twenty Things You Didn’t Know About Everything (HarperCollins, NY, 2008). In a recent incarnation, Dean created advertising and branding campaigns as an independent consultant and with major ad agencies (BBDO, Campbell-Ewald/Lintas, C-M-E/Saatchi, among others). He was educated at Georgetown University, the Universidad de Madrid and the Monterey Institute of Foreign Studies. After a darkly amusing stint in military intelligence (don’t press him on it), he spent eight years as a musician and record producer in New York, Paris and Madrid. Besides English, he speaks fluent Spanish and French, comfortable Brazilian Portuguese, and decent Italian. His German is awful, but it amuses German people, who sometimes even understand what he is trying to say. Dean lives modestly in Beverly Hills, California.
