Tamiya: 1/35 German KS600 & Sidecar – Model Kit
KS600 and sidecar wheels are molded in left and right sections to get the spoke detail just right. The figures are in natural pose!
Perhaps the most famous of the 600cc class bikes deployed by the German military in WWII, the KS600 was built around a 28hp horizontally opposed engine with shaft drive. With a sidecar attached, it could reach up to 96km/h and thanks to its 15-liter fuel tank had a range of 300km. Production began in 1938, and it was used in dispatch and reconnaissance roles from the early stages of WWII; although production ceased in 1941, the remaining KS600s stayed in service until the second half of the conflict.
