There is no time, only the illusion of time, and what remains has already been and what has been will be. Sixty-five-year-old management consultant Len Giardia is disenchanted. Once considered a prodigy in his childhood, he now reflects that his life has not turned out quite as he expected.

His marriage has failed, he has become disgusted with his job, and he is constantly annoyed by his neighbors and business associates. His only solace comes from the occasional snorkeling trip to the Caribbean Islands. But Len has developed a peculiar concept that may offer a solution-he concludes that time operates in a circle and that, as a result of its circuitousness, it may contain specific connections by which events can be controlled and changed. In the meantime, he falls in love with a young Mexican girl. And by his own theories, he may have become a murderer, but only time can provide the answer.
