Shitkid EP (Purple Galaxy Vinyl) (12")

ShitKid is the project of 23-year-old Åsa Söderqvist based in Gothenburg in the south of Sweden. After moving to Gothenburg from her hometown in the north of Sweden she found herself starting a feminist punk band with two friends and quickly started playing around Gothenburg, but at the same time she’d also started recording on her own at home.

Recording on a half-broken computer and using vocal effects to record guitar solo, and with tracks purely consisting of vocals and drums, Åsa shared her works on Soundcloud in June 2015. Four months later she reached out to Stockholm label PNKSLM Recordings, and the first fruit of the collaboration was ShitKid’s official debut single “Oh Please Be A Cocky Cool Kid”, which was released on March 1. The debut single was followed by second single “666” and the three track debut EP ShitKid, which was released on April 1, picking up praise from the likes of SPIN, The FADER, Dazed, Pigeons & Planes and BEAT.

Now ShitKid isreleasing the full and expanded version of the debut EP, featuring five new tracks led by lead single “RnR Sally”, before heading into the studio to record the debut full-length (due this winter).
