How was I to know that my jumping up and pulling on the tassel would bring the tree down? Oh, what trouble I’m in, I thought as the tree leaned and finally came crashing down on me before I could get out of the way. Bang, and a loud bang it was, as the tree fell to the floor. “Meow, meow,” I screamed. The first to the room was Mom, and she was mad. “Shadow!” Cats are notorious for getting into trouble and finding things to keep them occupied. Shadow is no exception. A special, lively, and slightly troublesome cat, Shadow continually finds herself in the middle of a problem, whether it’s an invitation to a walnut squash dinner with her squirrel friends or constantly being chased by blue jays. The newest addition to a family living in Georgia, Shadow quickly builds relationships with the children and parents, who lovingly welcome her. And how does she repay them?
