Sheri is her family’s historian and genetic genealogist with a commitment to preservation traditions. In 1985, Sheri asked her mother to author cards so she could enjoy making them herself. In beautiful cursive writing, the art of baking along the tip of her pen unfolded. Ingredients and instructions to prepare baked goods like, “Grandma Cake,” “Grandma Rolls, “along with “Grandma’s Bread and Butter Pickles” are available now. Folks in our family speak with a drawl and share stories of great grandparents that ate “brains and eggs” and Possum along with other fare known to the “American South.” Teaching the next generation is key to the longevity of these delicious treasures. Your versions of these delights will have your family and friends coming back for more.

Author Biography

Dakota has been baking alongside her grandma since they started “cooking every Friday night” when she was one year old. She ate most of the pizza dough at that stage but has always had a natural talent for cooking. “Kota,” as she is known to friends and family, created recipes and perfected many of these family specialties on her own. She prepared to many of these creations alone as her accuracy for measurements and attention to detail ensures her success. She is nine years old, her sister Demetra is four-years-old and loves learning this craft from her very patient sister Dakota.
