Resistance

New Zealand is one of the world leaders of neoliberalism, and since 1984 its government has pursued neoliberal policies with a confidence that few other governments possess. Resistance: An Indigenous Response to Neoliberalism is a collection by Maori academics, activists and leaders on resistance to neoliberalism. Despite multiple failures, neoliberalism continues to grow. Resistance looks at overt and subtle activities that Maori have used to challenge these globalisation practices and promote other ways of living. Editor Maria Bargh has a PhD in political science and international relations from the Australian National University and is a lecturer in Maori Studies at Victoria University of Wellington.
