After working in planning and design at a plush toy company, Susa began a career as a handicraft artist. She creates needle-felted mascots, knickknacks and stuffed toys, and she publishes her creations in magazines and books. She produces needle-felt kits from handicraft manufacturers and also teaches needle-felting classes. She has written books on pompom and needle-felted characters.
