"The only thing I can complain about is the fact that it didn't come with any instructions. Thankfully, it's rather simple to setup, and if you're confused there is always online guides about both setting up and maintaining it."
"For anyone who is looking for a beginner fountain pen, the Pilot MR1 is a great option. A great introduction to fountain pens."
"Great pen, excellent balanced feel posted or not. Though the lid can slip of if not posted securely. Brilliantly smooth writing feel, particularly when I'm using the Pilot Iroshizuku inks. This is my second Metropolitan. The only reason I've given four and not five stars here is that this one differed from what was actually pictured, in that the black grip section was plain, without the nice little design that was shown on the website. However, the pen is great none-the-less."
"Nice looking pen. Does everything you want it to do. Even though the pen is in the medium stroke class, the lines are a lot thinner than you may think, even if you apply a bit of pressure. Also the pen comes with blue ink installed and if it has been pierced then it needs to be used as they are prone to leaking."
"Expensive mistake - wouldn't buy again. It dropped on the floor from desk height landed on the end of the pen and the nib broke. It is now completely useless and apparently not covered under warranty. A $30 that can't be dropped at all."
