Author Biography
George W. O’Bannon (Cornell, Stanford, international relations, Middle Eastern studies), editor and assistant editor of Oriental Rug Review, a bi-monthly journal of oriental rugs and textiles, from 1983 through 1991, is an independent consultant and appraiser of oriental carpets. An internationally recognized authority in this field, he has written and spoken extensively on this topic, and his articles have appeared in numerous publications. He is the author of The Turkoman Carpet and several exhibition catalogs.
