You’ve made it! After years of hard work and grueling curriculum, you’ve passed the test. Congrats to you for reaching this milestone . . . now GET A JOB! Remember how your parents emphasized the value of a good education, and how it will open doors to a successful and fulfilling career? Well forget it! Corporations and institutions don’t care that you’ve studied Plato or Russian literature, they want hard-driving, bottom line, results driven workers that can tow-the-line and conform. “Oh, The Places You Will See” provides the reader with a dose of reality that their liberal arts college adviser never mentioned during freshman orientation. This somewhat jaded parody will set the newly minted graduate on the proper course to a lifetime of rejection and disappointment, as it should be! Open wide and take a big bite my friend, for the “world is your oyster”, and this one is rancid!

Author Biography

Dimitri Makedonsky is an author living in Grinnell, Iowa. He penned “Oh the Places You will See” for his then “college bound” children as a satirical and somewhat jaded parody reflecting what it’s like out there in the “real world”. Dimitri is a published playwright (The Ten Rules of Internet Dating, Heuer Publishing, 2005) and poet (Lyrical Iowa, 2004). Dimitri shares ownership (with his life partner Colleen) of a lovely wine bar/bistro located in an historic bank building in Ladora, Iowa. When he’s not toiling away at the bistro, he enjoys riding his motorcycle and working on dilapidated buildings he tends to acquire.
