The works contain Melissa’s journals and tell her love story with Jesus and with Jeremy Camp. Her journals and Melissa & Jeremy’s story were the inspiration for the film I STILL BELIEVE. Janette is described by her readers as a powerful storyteller, a beautiful writer, inspiring, and vulnerable, sharing the raw pieces of her heart with words that resonate deep in the soul. Janette is passionate about sharing Melissa’s life, her journals, and the power of one life surrendered to Christ. She is a fervent follower of Jesus Christ, a wife, a mother of four, and a grandmother of nine. She has been a pastor’s wife, a church planter, a women’s minister, a Bible Study teacher, a writer, a conference speaker, and a real estate agent teaming with her husband Mark in San Diego County. They live in the beach community of Encinitas, California. Melissa Lynn Camp was the first wife of Christian recording artist Jeremy Camp. Melissa has become a generational influencer. God has used her life, her testimony, and her journals to transform the lives of young and old, men and women. She was and is a friend of God, an amazing daughter, a compassionate sister, a loving wife, a caring friend, and a passionate follower of Jesus Christ. She was a High School Youth Leader, sang on worship teams and in choir, played JV basketball, and was an impactful college student, mentor, camp counselor, artist, and writer. Melissa loved children and worked as a Preschool Teacher’s Assistant and a Nanny. She married Jeremy Camp on October 21, 2000; they lived close to the beach in Carlsbad, California until her home going on February 5, 2001 at the age of 21. Their love story and Melissa’s journals were the inspiration for the film I Still Believe and are published in the book Melissa, If One Life . . . and in the Devotional Journal – Craving Intimacy with God.​ ​Melissa lived her life in a passionate pursuit of knowing God intimately – she craved it! Her journals reveal her great love for the Lord and she longed to share them with the world. Her desire was to impact young women to walk closely with God and she is fulfilling that desire everyday. Not just one but millions have been inspired and impacted by her life and her words. Jeremy Camp is an award winning contemporary Christian singer, songwriter and performer. His professional music career began in the shadow of his wife’s Melissa’s death in 2001, three months after their wedding. Jeremy was devastated and didn’t think he could ever sing again but three weeks after Melissa death God told him to pick up his guitar. He wrote the song, I Still Believe that reached the top tier of the Christian charts. The song became the title for his book about his life and also the title of the film about his love story with Melissa. I Still Believe was released in 2020.Jeremy poured his pain, sorrow and his faith into his music, and in 2002 he was signed to BEC Recordings, which released his first nationally distributed album. Five songs from the disc reached the top of the Christian singles chart. Jeremy has traveled all over the world sharing His music along with his testimony including Melissa’s story and her desire for one life to come to know Jesus Christ as their savior through all that she went through. His life and career are a bold testimony of how faith in Jesus Christ and hope in His goodness can triumph over tragedy. Jeremy is married to Adrienne (Leisching) Camp, former singer with the Benjamin Gate. They have 3 children.
