Author Biography

Lindsey has loved manatees since she was in elementary school and first did a report on them after her parents went to a Jimmy B concert and heard him spread awareness about the endangered animal. She was inspired to write this book after her husband surprised her with a trip to Florida to swim with manatees and she fell even more in love with them. She currently lives with her husband and dog in Seattle, WA. Leah Lopez is an award-winning artist and cartoonist. Leah began drawing at the age of 2, and she eventually adopted her favorite medium-colored pencils. At age 16, Leah started teaching children how to draw and color cartoons through a business she founded – Leah’s Cartooning Parties, Inc.
