Set in the tranquil town of Lud-in-the-Mist, located in the country of Dorimare at the confluence of two rivers, the story explores the town’s strained relationship with the neighboring realm of Fairyland. Historically, Lud-in-the-Mist had strong ties with Fairyland, but after the overthrow of the capricious Duke Aubrey by the town’s merchants, all connections were severed, and anything related to Fairyland was deemed taboo.
