Jamaican Ceramics

ceramics is rooted in the history of mankind. Jamaican Ceramics: A Historical and Contemporary Survey is a comprehensive
examination of the development of ceramics from pre-history to the present day.

ceramics. Norma Rodney Harrack, herself a practicing ceramic artist, offers an

ceramic practices to the syncreticism and continuity of African Jamaican pottery

have guided much of the primary research for this project.

Author Biography

NORMA
RODNEY HARRACK taught ceramics for four decades at
the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. She is a frequent exhibitor
locally and overseas and has won many awards for her contribution to the
ceramic field. She is a founding member of the Association of Jamaican Potters
and is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (Geneva).
