Author Kimberly S. Hoffman utilizes rhyme and animals to bring gentle, teachable moments to children. Through her prose, she introduces deeper themes of diversity, inclusion, and self-esteem or self-worth. Illustrator Calder Robinson, who also illustrated Ms. Hoffman’s book, The Red Coat, brings out the emotions felt by Llama and Ewe visually to add depth and color to the story.

Author Biography

Kimberly S. Hoffman, children’s author, not only writes stories with themes of overcoming obstacles, thinking outside the box regarding disabilities, self-sacrifice and more, but she speaks on these topics at schools, libraries and civic clubs, often incorporating dance into the programs. Kimberly grew up in Columbus, Indiana, where trips to the library happened nearly every week of her childhood. She loves to read and thinks the library is a wonderful place to be. She knows that books can teach us, transport us to new realms, inspire us, cause us to cry, or make us fall over laughing.Kimberly loves to dance and can often be found dancing around her house (and sometimes in public), creating choreography to whatever song is playing. She also creates essential oil diffuser jewelry, which she sells under Queen Bee Designs. She is married to Paul J. Hoffman, an author and publisher. He worked as a sports writer, news editor, and special publications editor at newspapers in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana during a 34-year career in journalism. He’s penned two nonfiction/true crime/history books through The History Press and published two books of memoirs for other authors through his company, 18% Gray Publishing, before purchasing PathBinder from founder Heather Hummel in May 2020. He lives in Columbus, Indiana, with his wife, Kimberly, a children’s author.
