Healing Our Community, one recipe at a time, is an enlightening prospective of healing health and wellness and seeks to provide the reader with tools needed to undergo their personal healing and transformation that will cause a ripple effect that will change their life and their community. The book seeks to do the following: – Promote a balanced approach to health and fitness – Provide information on curbing the health epidemic in our community – Highlight the importance of the family as the backbone of the community – Provide valuable proven guidelines on nutritious and healthy food choices. – Share both local and international recipes and explain their health benefits. – Transform and heal lives regardless of geographical location – The importance of the family meal, and food as a recipe to bridge cultural divides – Highlight the importance of faith and spirituality to the community Healing Our Community is heavily research-based. It is also hugely inspired and driven by my international travels and lived experiences in different cultures and societies. Altogether, these have widened my culinary lenses and enriched my repertoire of recipes, health tips and perspectives which are generously and intentionally shared in this first volume.
