Hanna, Homeschooler

In this chapter book for young readers or readaloud, seven-year-old Hanna has just moved to a new town from her home in the mountains. Hanna struggles to make friends, first with two girls across the street who go to school, then with children in her new homeschooling cooperative. Hanna also has challenges at home, learning to live with her grandmother and adjust to her new life now that Dad is attending college. Over nine months, Hanna forms a bond with her grandmother, gains new friends, and feels like a true homeschooler.

Author Biography

Suki Wessling is a writer of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. She has worked as a college English teacher, small press publisher, graphic designer, and journalist. Her writing has been published in a variety of literary journals, magazines, blogs, and anthologies. Her nonfiction book, From School to Homeschool (Great Potential Press) was published in 2012. In 2016, she published her chapter book, Hanna, Homeschooler, through her small press, Chatoyant. Suki also teaches writing, literature, and education classes for children and adults.
