Guide to Laser Safety

The technology of lasers is now so ubiquitous that there are very few areas of modern life in which these devices do not have some part to play. This text is intended as a practical guide, to help those who work with lasers to do so safely. It begins with a broad introductory review of the main essentials of laser safety and then goes on to present a more detailed discussion of the background to laser safety in the second part. Part three considers practical approaches to safe laser use in some important areas of laser application. Henderson has also included elementary descriptions of laser operation and brief outlines of various laser applications for the less advanced reader.
