Author Biography

Mark B. Hamilton’s work centers increasingly on the environment, especially along the Lewis and Clark Expedition route, including the Eastern Journals, 1803-1806. He is, perhaps, the only living person to have actually traced their entire route, on their approximate timetable, traveling as they did by paddle and pack mule: a two year, nine month, 8,000 mile journey. Published titles include EARTH SONGS, and CONFRONTING THE BASILISK, plus many individual poems, academic articles, and a video. Recent poems have appeared in Plainsongs, Ship of Fools, Written River, and Poetry Salzburg Review.
