The role of Visual factors in dyslexia has been the subject of controversy for many years. Recently, it has been claimed that some cases of dyslexia benefit from visual treatments, such as eye exercises, patching, and coloured glasses. Dyslexia and Vision summarises the main visual factors that have been claimed to be associated with dyslexia and examines the evidence relating to these claims. This analysis reveals which visual factors are associated with dyslexia and notes that although some visual treatments may be appropriate in certain cases, visual treatments are not cures for dyslexia. Dyslexia and Vision is written for people who do not have an expert knowledge of eyes and vision, primarily for teachers, educational psychologists, and paediatricians.
