Malaika Ongwae, originally from Kenya, moved to Canada as a child, where her passion for literature and storytelling blossomed. From an early age, she engaged deeply with writing, serving as a writer for her high school newspaper, later taking on the role of editor for her college publication, and ultimately becoming the president of the poetry club during her university years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English before pursuing a Master’s degree in English and Creative Writing, honing her craft and exploring the power of words. A passionate advocate for cultural diversity, equality, and various social issues, Malaika frequently speaks at prominent events across Canada, inspiring others to embrace inclusivity and celebrate their unique backgrounds. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, painting, and engaging with children, sharing her love of stories with the younger generation. Her debut book, Dreamfurs: The Enchanted Beginning, reflects her rich cultural heritage and commitment to social themes, marking an exciting new chapter in her writing journey.
