The book tracks her early career as she advanced from a seamstress to an entrepreneur, borrowing from male fashions to combine comfort and elegance in clothing for women, with such groundbreaking innovations as the ‘little black dress’ and Chanel No.5 perfume.

Author Biography

Screenwriter and graphic novelist Carola Di Giovanni attained her Master’s degree in Italian Studies and Linguistic Sciences with a focus on philology and the treatment of ancient and modern documents.She lives in Bologna, Italy.

Artist Federica De Fazio attended the Academy of Fine Arts and Art Graphics in Rome. During her time at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata for her master’s course, she worked with the publishing house Editions Notari on the book project Les Deux Voyages by Octave Mirbeau.
