When the rerelease of Carl Davidoff’s first two cello concertos with the soloist Wen-Sinn Yang in 2007 was announced it was indicated that it was intended to produce the same composer’s third and fourth concertos also. This turned out to be easier said than done because the music first had to be found. The search took its time but in the end was crowned with success.
It is thus that these two first-time-ever world-premiere recordings can be presented shedding new light on the cello virtuoso, Davidoff, as a serious composer. The fact that Wen-Sinn Yang is just the right soloist for this task was shown by him himself on the first recordings.
