Basic Thai Illustrated

Learn Basic Thai with comics. With this phrase book written in a spelling which you read like English, you can learn to speak and understand Thai. You’ll pick up vocabulary because words are repeated in different context. Basic Thai illustrated features basic dialog in standard Thai, which is the national spoken language of Thailand. Each dialog has drills on substitution, expansion, and transformation, notes on grammar, and vocabulary to provide a general understanding of the language. The exercises are designed to force you to talk. Practice each dialog with the recordings (downloadable on web), which were originally produced to train officials for the foreign service at the US State Department. The written material, simplified and edited by the author and illustrator, was also developed by the Foreign Service Institute with the assistance of the US Office of Education.
