"I find the Army Painter paints to be very easy to work with as a beginner, need little thinning when using a wet palette. I drop one small dot of water with 1 drop of paint & it glides on my minis"
"Has some good colours to start a miniatures painting set with. If buying for someone you are confident will use it then maybe the fine detail brush and copper or gold metallic paint in addition would complete it. A wash would work wonders on models too."
"It would be a better paint set if they had added a gold instead of say the brown which is an easy colour to mix so I only gave it 4 stars"
"I really like these paints, they're a joy to use, they go on smooth, are nicely opaque, and have a good level of matt finish for my tastes. These are 12ml bottles, but a little paint goes quite a way, and the mini (which is much nicer & more detailed than my wizkid minis) more than makes up for it imo. That said I'm not super keen on all of the colours. The brown is a bit light for me, most of them aren't very vibrant, and while they all are nice on their own, they're not the easiest tones to go mixing together. The brush is average, okay for priming and base coating, but I'd recommend getting a finer, higher quality brush for anything else. All in all, it's a good way to dip your toes in."
"There is a good selection of paints included with the pack but a couple of disappointing issues. Firstly the Minsc sword appears to be designed to look like he is bending it. Second, the paint bottles are about two thirds the size of the army painter standard bottles. What at first appears to be a good deal is actually pretty average. I had been looking at the monster version of this pack but this has given me second thoughts."
