After the Rain

In 2005 the hip-hop/roots collective known as Basscamp were formed with the sole intent of creating danceable beats based in conscious hip-hop and roots music. Producer Paul Bimler (Confucius) is known for his involvement in many other projects – notably dubstep production team Joint Forces, as well as reggae production team Reality Chant Productions with Messenjah. KP and Switch are the mainstays of the Sunshine Soundsystem with Downtown Brown, and are frequent vocalists for Shapeshifter.

Matiu Te Huki leads his own group, My Golden Soul, as well as being the founder of Homefire Burning. And last but not least DJ/Producer Stickyfingaz is an entity unto himself, being a major player in the New Zealand hiphop scene and supporting many of the internationals that visit our shores. All in all, a lot of talent is brought to bear in the collective that is Basscamp, all of which is reflected on this new album from Basscamp. Basscamp’s new album “After The Rain” also features appearances from Disco Diva Claudja Barry, MCs JDubs and Aeries, as well as Californian born reggae artist Snypa Levi.
