2D Materials

This book provides an introduction to 2D materials, their current fabrication techniques, and characterization. It focuses on the wide applications of 2D materials in electromagnetic shielding applications, high power sensors, electrochemical energy storage, supercapacitors, photo detectors, medical and biomedical fields and energy storage devices. 2D materials such as graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD), MXenes and so on, have attracted a lot of attention because of their ability to be integrated in various functional devices.

Author Biography

Dr. Rekha Sharma obtained her PhD from Banasthali University, India. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, at Banasthali University, and has entered into a specialized research career focused on developing water purification technology. Her research interest includes developing water purification technology by developing biomaterial reduced NPs, and polymers and biopolymers incorporated metal oxide-based nano-adsorbents and nano-sensors to remove and sense health-hazardous inorganic toxicants like and heavy metal ions from aqueous media for water and wastewater treatment.

Dr. Sapna Raghav obtained her PhD from the Department of Chemistry, at Banasthali University, Rajasthan. Her research interests are in Environmental Chemistry, especially in water decontamination, sensing, and material science. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Jhujunu, Rajasthan.
