The Eameses met while studying at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and married in 1941. Together, they ran a small design studio in Los Angeles, where they experimented with new materials and innovative techniques that eventually led to their breakthrough molded-plywood chair in 1946. This breakthrough chair was followed by a number of other iconic designs, including the aluminum-and-leather lounge chair, the plastic-and-wire mesh chair and the molded-plastic rocking chair. This office chair is a replica of the Eames Group Standard Aluminium Low Back Office Chair, which was designed by the iconic design duo Charles and Ray Eames. The chair is built with genuine leather and a matte black aluminium frame, and features an adjustable gas height lift mechanism.
