Fossils of the Brighstoneus were found near the village of Brighstone on the Isle of Wight in 1978, and its remains were sent to London’s Natural History Museum. However, this herbivorous reptile wasn’t formally named until 2021.
Examinations revealed that the dinosaur appeared to have been around eight metres long, with a bulbous snout, a white patch around the eye and striped markings – most likely for camouflage purposes.
