Following three generations of her family, from the working farms of Cumbria to the shores of Kent, as they navigate dysfunctional relationships, societal change and the fallout of disastrous policies, Nicola Wilding offers a candid and moving portrait of a class and country in crisis. It is about love, pride, protest and anger and the struggle to find belonging in an atomised world.

Author Biography

Nicola Wilding grew up in the Eden Valley in Cumbria as part of a rural, working-class family. Now a writer and TV producer, she has spent over two decades making documentaries on subjects such as poverty, class, education, farming, puppies and vacuum cleaners.
