She had grown up wanting to be a dancer on the stage. Now she would work on the audience side of the curtains. Felicity Fair Thompson became the first woman in Rank’s West End Cinema management, surrounded by movie stars, the rich and famous, all the Royal family, press and film media buzz, and thousands of cinema fans. Author Biography

Felicity Fair Thompson was born in Australia. After a short ballet career, she worked for the Rank Organisation in London’s West End. Later her interests expanded into film making and writing. Her film Carisbrooke Castle was broadcast on SKY TV. Three of her other travel films were shown on Australian television. Her work includes children’s stories, three produced stage plays, travel features, theatre reviews, personality profiles, award winning poetry, and three novels. She founded and hosted the IW Weekend Writers’ Conference with delegates from Britain, Europe and the US. She gave workshops alongside Sir Andrew Motion at the Tennyson Bicentenary. With an MA Screenwriting UAL she has taught for Screen South, Connexions, IW College, and independently, and worked one to one with young people with learning difficulties.
