The mother of two curious young beachcombers, Melissa Avstreih leverages her Harvard University journalism degree and decades of experience researching, writing, and fact-checking to author a series of seashell identification guides, including Seashells of the Jersey Shore, Seashells of Cape Cod & the Islands, and Seashells of Delmarva. She currently lives in Arlington, Virginia.
