Author Biography

Chris X. Sandoval, M.Ed., is an award-winning educator whose journey has been shaped by the hard work and values of his Ecuadorian immigrant parents. Their example inspired his strong work ethic and lifelong passion for helping others. Since 2010, Chris has worked across the K-12 and higher education settings, he has served as both a counselor and professor, working with graduate students in school psychology and school counseling programs.Writing this book alongside his daughters, Mya and Zoe, has been a joyful and meaningful experience filled with laughter, creativity, and connection. Chris is especially grateful to his wife, Geneva, his life partner and greatest supporter since 2007. He believes deeply in the power of social-emotional learning to help children embrace challenges, grow through adversity, and find strength in being exactly who they are.
