When Jett Cooper’s father, Jack, tells him that the first Blue Wolf Junior Air Competition will be held at their outback Air Show, Jett is all in – as long as his best friend, Ella Tao, is too. But after Jack’s accident, Jett’s mum bans ‘everything flying’.

Jett lives to fly. He knows he can win the Blue Wolf competition, as well as a scholarship to the prestigious Flying Academy, if only his mum lets him fly again.

But Mum is dealing with her grief, selling Jack’s flying school to a mysterious buyer, and handling Jett’s not so secret visits to the Flying Club when he should be in class. If she catches Jett at the air show, she’ll send him to boarding school.

Jett would give up everything to fly in the competition. With the help of his adventurous and slightly crazy Aunt Allie, he defies his mum and sets the flying world on fire … for all the wrong reasons.

Mel Hill or M.A.C. Hill has loved planes and flying since she was a kid. She loved it so much she joined Air Cadets, then the Air Force and has spent most of her life working in aviation. After working on different short stories, Jett Cooper walked into Mel’s head and refused to leave. Eleven years later Jett is ready to launch into the world. Being in and around aircraft is one of our joys. I still watch in awe as planes take off and land, and marvel at science’s temporary victory over gravity.
