During the Great Depression, people were in desperate need of food, lodging, and work. There were many people who tried to con others out of money. Sometimes it would work. Sometimes it didn’t. This is the story of a young sister and brother who helped to bring to justice one of the biggest scams of the century, and they did it in a very unusual way.

Author Biography

Donna Blair Patterson is now retired. However, throughout her career, she was a teacher, a guidance counselor, a professor, and Dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. During her career, she wrote for The Mainstream and Education Week. This is her third book since her retirement.
