Damned Orchard

WWII interrupted the world and dashed countless dreams. It molded good, kind men into killers in the name of necessity. For a sullen few, the war was a reprieve. A way out, a new life. An escape. Cameron Mason was alone and broken, a family man without a family. Too old for the draft, he volunteered to fly across the world and fight the Axis of Evil, and by sheer will, he succeeded. Yet when the tides of bloody war subsided, Cameron tumbled out into a world that had changed for the better, but not for him. Good people were fighting every day for civil rights and equal rights, but the malevolence of those in power and the disinterest of the general public meant those things were years away from fruition. Lonely and lost, he leaned on his friends and his wits to try and find a new way to live in this world. It set him on a path of intrigue and horrors that he could not abide.
