These elegant Storage Bowls use natural materials to store fresh produce and are a combination of beautiful design and the clever innovation that the Emile Henry artisans and engineers are known for.

They perform on two levels. The cork lid serves as a fruit bowl, while the ceramic base offers a space for keeping onions, potatoes and other root vegetables fresh and out of the light.

Cork contains suberin, which has antifungal properties, doesn’t absorb moisture, and repels fruit flies. French grandmothers have been known to toss a handful of wine corks into their fruit bowls for this very reason.

For the ceramic bowl:Dishwasher safe but we recommend washing by handFor stubborn residue, soak in hot water and white vinegar.For the lid:The cork material is food-safe and will “age” well over time. It can be cleaned with a damp sponge, if needed, but should not be soaked in waterWhilst cork has the ability to “breathe/absorb” some excess humidity from stored goods (and to release it subsequently), it is recommended to check for bruised fruits regularly to avoid excessive liquid leaking from ageing items. It also pays to avoid piling up heavier fruits on top of soft (skinned) fruits.
