The EOS R1 features a 24.2-megapixel full-frame sensor that uses a back-illuminated, stacked design to deliver superb sensitivity, brilliant resolution and incredible speed. A low-pass filter has 16-point separation that effectively reduces false colour and moiré while preserving fine detail. The EOS R1’s Dual Pixel Intelligent AF uses Cross-Type AF that is sensitive to both horizontal and vertical detail. These increases focusing accuracy and speed in low light and low-contrast conditions.

Capture fleeting moments with a customisable continuous shooting speed of up to 40fps, a 1/64,000 sec. top shutter speed and virtually zero rolling-shutter distortion. Pre-capture lets photographers capture moments before the shutter release is pressed.

Deep-learning and Cross-type AF identifies and tracks subjects with phenomenal accuracy. The DIGIC Accelerator processor powers Action Priority mode, which automatically determines the main subject in football, volleyball and basketball, moving AF areas accordingly.
