In 1945, the first VW Beetle rolled off the production line in Wolfsburg – and took hearts by storm, because the small, cuddly car not only looked good, but it was also affordable and at the same time very robust and powerful.
The Beetle, as it was christened by a reporter from the New York Times, quickly became an absolute cult object. In 1998, the original ‘Beetle’ was replaced by the reinterpretation ‘New Beetle’. And after almost 70 years and more than 22 million cars built, the last example left the VW plant in Puebla, Mexico.
It is now immortalised in the siku vehicle fleet: we are presenting the small cult car with the iconic, round shapes for the first time as a detailed replica in blister size. The body of the ‘Ovali’ is made of robust metal and the tyres are made of high-quality rubber.
