Compsognathus, also known as “Compys,” were small, bipedal dinosaurs that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 150 million years ago. They were about the size of a chicken, with long, thin legs and a slender body. Despite their small size, they were fast and agile, making them difficult prey for larger predators.
Interestingly, Compsognathus is one of the few dinosaur species that is known to have had feathers. Fossil evidence shows that they had simple, down-like feathers covering their bodies, which they likely used for insulation and display purposes.
