The Blobfish, a fascinating deep-sea creature, is easily recognized by its unique, jelly-like appearance. It lives in the depths of waters surrounding Australia and New Zealand. Thriving at depths between 600 and 1,200 meters, in these extreme environments, high pressure supports its shape. But when brought to the surface, the lack of pressure causes the blobfish to lose its structure, giving it a soft, ‘blobby’ look. This unusual appearance earned the Blobfish a quirky fan base, making it a surprisingly beloved icon of the deep!
