This is a great game to get kids into board gaming.
I read some really iffy reviews about this game being too simple or boring and was worried it would be crap, but my 8 year old and I love it! we both have ADHD so love opening the envelopes every few games as a way to keep it exciting and novel so that it feels fresh enough to be able to enjoy playing it over and over. I also appreciate that you can still advance towards the next envelope regardless if you win or lose, and adding stickers to track your progress is really fun. The quality of the game itself is nice thick cardboard used in proper board games, not the kind of cheap flimsy games you’d expect from typical family board games from big w/kmart/etc. We played it for FIVE HOURS on the first day it arrived and then couldn’t wait for school to finish so we could play again to unlock the next envelope 😅 My son plays more advanced games like Doom, Descent, Catan, DnD, etc and still really enjoys this even though the concept is alot simpler. **Note: The kid on the bike doesn’t get power ups until the 10th envelope which is my only negative so far. If you are playing with 4 people I would suggest an adult takes that character.
This game is super cute. It's a mini-legacy game which means that the game changes slightly as you play more games. In this case, the characters (and the zombies!) get new powers that change the rules slightly. After every few plays you get to open an envelope with the new rules/cards which the kids love. The game is a simple co-operative that plays quickly (10 minutes). Great for parents to play with kids probably 7–10ish (although our nearly 11 year old loves it still!).
Zombie Kidz Evolution is the first “legacy”-style game for kids, with basic gameplay similar to the 2013 title Zombie Kidz — but things will quickly evolve!
In the game, the young players are at school when zombies start to attack, infiltrating the entryways, then barring the way to classrooms. Players move through rooms and entryways to eliminate zombies and keep the zombie reserve full. If a zombie must enter the school but none are available, then the school has been overrun and the players lose. To win the game, players need to lock each of the four entryways as apparently the custodian has abandoned the post and given up the school for lost.
As players get better, they can complete missions, track their development through a trophy-sticker system reminiscent of video games, and open envelopes that contain new material for the game, upping the challenge they face while also providing them with new powers and new heroes as well.
