Author Biography

Born into a hippie commune filled with undercover cops and raised in a tent, Vonna Harper discovered her writing talent while penning excuses (supposedly written by her keepers) for her many school absences. Despite her spotty attendance, she graduated college at fifteen and joined a group of foreign mercenaries. Unfortunately, she was bitten by a brown recluse and shown the door. Upon returning to the U.S., she bought a gold mine and spent the next year perfecting her pick axe technique. Despite the mine's awesome output, the resident rattlers finally drove her to sell it. Being independently wealthy and jetting around the world in her own jet proved boring so she finally gave into the muse and turned to her computer in earnest. Twelve computers and three carpal tunnel surgeries later, she's still writing and LOVING IT, LOVING IT she says. She somehow found time to get married and give birth twice and find various dogs to own her. Like the stereotypical old soldier, she plans on just fading away when she can no longer pound the keyboard, sans shoes and pantyhose of course. Nothing exciting happens in Tawny Taylor's life, unless you count giving the cat a flea dip--a cat can make some fascinating sounds when immersed chin-deep in insecticide--or chasing after a houseful of upchucking kids during flu season. She doesn't travel the world or employ a staff of personal servants. She's not even built like a runway model. She's just your run-of-the-mill Detroit suburban mom and wife. That's why she writes, for the sheer joy of it. She doesn't need to escape, mind you. Despite being run-of-the-mill, her life is wonderful. She just likes to add some...zip. Her heroines might resemble herself, or her next door neighbor (sorry Sue), but they are sure to be memorable (she hopes!). And her heroes--inspired by movie stars, her favorite television actors or her husband--are fully capable of delivering one hot happily-ever-after after another. Combined, the characters and plots she weaves bring countless hours of enjoyment to Tawny...and she hopes to readers too! In the end, that's all the matters to Tawny, bringing a little bit of zip to someone else's life. Anne Rainey grew up in a small town in central Ohio, the only girl with three rowdy, older brothers. When she wasn't playing tackle football with them she could be found tucked away in her mother's book room getting lost in mysterious worlds. She's had a variety of odd jobs including chiropractic assistant, frame stylist, restaurant hostess, and nail technician. Anne now lives with her fabulous husband, two gorgeous teenage daughters, two ornery dogs and three snooty cats. When she's not dressing, feeding, cleaning or spending time with them, she can be found at the computer writing stories hot enough to make your toes curl! Visit her at: www.annerainey.com
