Georges, who finds that the chemical, optical and microscopic characters of this Substance prove it to be a mere mixture of hydrochlorate and sulphate of quinine. The most interesting of recent reports on cinchona bases appears to us to be a communication from W. Koenigs and A. Husmann, showing that cinchonine can be partially converted into cinchonidine by prolonged heating with an amyl alcohol solution of potash.
